By this point and time during the holiday season I'm usually on wreath overload. That doesn't mean I don't think they're festive or that they aren't pretty, but this home decor blogger went with something different for her front doors — big sparkly bows!
You can only see so many wreaths before you're ready to roll your eyes and be done with them. I'm sure that's largely Pinterest's fault for seeing millions more of them this year than I usually see, but either way, I knew my wreaths weren't going to cut it.
Instead, I opted for giant bows to adorn my front doors and each and every day they make me happy when I come back inside. They flutter in the breeze and make our house feel extra inviting and happy. Every house needs a shot of happiness right?
The bows were purchased at an end of the season sale last year at Michaels (I haven't checked this year to see if they are carrying them again) and were a worthwhile purchase. Do you have someone on your front door that makes you happy to come home? Something that isn't a wreath? Let me know in the comments below!

White Enamel Flatwa...
Those are cute! THAT is something I would pin to my board if I had one. I requested an invite to Pinterest a month and a half ago and am still waiting...
They have them this year in a few colors. I was going to try to get some after Christmas as well.
@LindseyMKM-I wonder if your request has slipped through somebody's cyber fingers. I requested an invite last month and was pinning away the next day. I think it's crazy that you're STILL waiting, maybe you could sign up for another free email addy and request another invite? You're kinda missing out, Pinterest is amazing.
PINNED omg so cute.
@LindseyMKM Give me your email and I'll send you an invite!
@Jadis1 @'Becca'lise I just got my hands on an invite :) Thank you anyway!
Yay for you!
Nope, I have a wreath, sorry! I made it, I like it, and it makes ME happy!
I have used swags, before, too -- but they are kind of similar to a wreath in concept. (Unless it's the circle you are averse to.)
I always thought, though a bit trite, front doors covered with gift wrap and ribbons to look like a big gift are cute.
That advent pine branch with the folded brown paper stars featured here recently would be a nice door decoration.
So would a cluster of giant snowflakes...
the glittery bows are fabulous, and I particularly like your door color. my front door is black and trad wreaths typically “disappear” on it -- this year I got a silver wreath at Ikea and love it
I too went with sparkly purple bows this year. Brings a little something different to my door.
