Detour Design has released a limited edition high definition Blu-ray disc of over 500 Fornasetti images which are presented as slow-moving animations. There are 7 tracks (which can be looped individually) and the running time is 50 minutes. It comes as a numbered edition of 3000 in a lacquered box (shown below) for $175.
A sample animation on the site a bit of a mix, kind of trippy and kind of design-y at the same time...to take a look and for more info: Fornasetti Moves by Detour Design

This product got us wondering...do any of you use any kind of ambient art product on your flat screen?

As I refuse to pay $175 for something like this, I sincerely hope someone uploads this somewhere because it does look awesome.
I just hook up my computer to my television and play the iTunes visualizer (the Magnetosphere is awesome). It's good to have on during parties, especially when you've already got a good playlist set up...sometimes we use Pandora, too, to mix things up.
If animation is your kind of thing, I'm sure there are already some trippy Escher-esque videos floating around youtube that would evoke the same concept as the Fornasetti art. $175 for DVDS? Hmm...
Cool... but creepy too...
I love the Op Art disc that you can find on the Detour Design main site. The regular dvd's are more reasonably priced.
Even so, the Fornasetti images have always had an elegantly mysterious and dark feeling to them.
These look perfect for Fornasetti collectors. I think the price is great for a Fornasetti piece - their plates go for around $200 and this is a limited edition too. Great idea!
