FortMakers is the creative brainchild of Nana Spears and Naomi Clark. Based in Brooklyn, the two use blankets and quilts found at thrift stores, flea markets and eBay as a jumping-off point for beautifully repurposed blankets — Quilt Paintings —by Naomi Clark.
The re-imagined blankets evoke movement and remind us of sophisticated children's artwork — a great combo for adding character to your home!
You can see more amazing blankets and read the FortMakers manifesto in their Letter to Grandma on the site: FortMakers.

Shaw's Original Fir...
they are all beautiful but i especially love #8...any idea of the price range of these creations?
i really appreciate the idea, but a lot of these are just a hair away from hideous.
They're far more interesting than, say, the tired ubiquitous throw with fringe motif. What they look like in person might affect what I see online. Hate it when vendors are afraid to post prices.
Don't see the art or craft? Sad.
So much character! Beautiful, rustic, functional - can't wait to track one down....
i see the art. i'm just not sure i like it in this instance. it's not that i'm anti-modifying a blanket, but some of these look like a barbie train accident.
that being said .. i do kind of like the 'triangle' series. i wish they had more detailed photos. hard to tell with these.
