So, you found a neat old bike on Craigslist. You already have a daily rider (or two) and don't really need another one, but you're dying to use it around your home. You've seen others have them staged and it looks neat, but how do you make your space different? Why not put it in the bathroom? Just look how fun it can be!
We stopped in over at Benjamin Bullins to take a look at this interesting custom install. It's a bike and, yup, it's in the bathroom. It's built in under a sink that doesn't have a pedestal. It makes a perfect spot for towels and oddly enough doesn't really take up much visual space or weight in the room. It looks like it belongs, right?
The rustic furnishings help out a little bit, but either way, it's still an interesting idea to wrap your mind around. There are tons of bikes on Craigslist that need new homes but really aren't for riding anymore. Many have been sitting in backyards or garages for so long that they need several hundred dollars worth of work to get them back in road worthy shape. This is a fun way to put those bikes to use in a rather unusual manner.

I love this - but would hate to dust all those spokes!
This looks neat!
I usually don't like bikey decor (unless it's an innovative bike storage idea), but I think this is really stylish.
When I look at this practically, it seems like it would be easy to install or uninstall. But I don't like the idea of a tire going flat and not being able to change it without taking the whole thing apart.
Also, I'm wondering if Benjamin Bullins treated with tires with anything to prevent towels or clothing that accidentally rubs against them from getting blackened.
Brilliant. Just brilliant.
If you were to just describe this to me without a photo, I'd roll my eyes and imagine something contrived, but this is really well integrated! I love the towel basket.
I totally love this. Could you just fill up the tires with something (pebbles etc?) to make them appear pumped up, instead of worrying about them going flat?
