We don't really care of a piece of artwork has been made from recycled or repurposed goods — if it doesn't look amazing, then it's not going in our home. That said, we ran across a colorful mosaic that resides on the front porch of a Milwaukee which brings color and personalization to a standard cookie cutter front porch.
Meet Lisa Kaemmerer. She lives in the Cambridge Woods neighborhood in Milwaukee and she loves her front porch. We have to agree that the mix of light and dark foliage make it a relaxing place to spend a little down time. We especially love the mosaic that sits nicely between her two front windows.
Created on top of a vintage window itself the piece brings a little life, sparkle and whimsy to her space. Made from rocks, beads and other assorted small items this piece feels right at home on this warm and comforting front porch. It's interesting to see how one small project can bring in color, continuity and interest to a space such as this.
You can read more about Lisa's first home or take the tour of her space over at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, but for now we're just going to sit and pretend we have a porch just like hers. Can someone pass us the sun tea?
