While cruising through a fun and family oriented home tour this morning at Apartment Therapy, we ran across the home of Alfred & Rachel Atlas Venditto and their two children. The home is comforting and full of collections, but what really caught our attention was this amazing magnetic map ceiling!
With an undercoat of magnetic paint and a simple world map painted on top, this ceiling becomes less of a place to hit your head and more of a place to make a little fun happen. If you don't think you have the ability to bust out a full map, try a few simple board games like tic tac toe or checkers! How many kids get to play ceiling checkers?!
We love the look and the inspiration it provides, thanks Alfred and Rachel!

If I were awarding a prize for "best use of magnetic primer" this would be a winner for sure. LOVE IT!
Now that's a great idea & reaaally cute executed! I wish my parents would've painted my walls that gorgeous when I was a kid!
btw... there's a bit of blue missing in northern Europe ;-)
AWESOME is an understatement. Love this. We are renting now but this goes into my creative folder for when we buy our next house.
Really great idea!
What a wonderful way to treat dormer ceilings. I will do this for a client' child' room with a sky painted on and magnetic airplanes for his aviation theme room. Just be careful nothing is too heavy or sharp that will be held by the magnets in case they let go.
