The SFist sought to reveal four of the best outdoor spots in San Francisco to have a drink or bite to eat, and ended up doing double duty. Not only did we love the recommends for the perfect patio, they gave us this image of our the best vintage-object-turned-planter we've seen in a while...
We love a good repurposing, and we also love typewriters! This planter takes both to new, botanical levels. In their March article about patio dining, the SFist included this image from the Wild Side West. If the Wild Side is sporting this kind of outdoor decor, we've got to check it out for ourselves. Well done, we say.

There are some beautiful, tucked away outdoor areas belonging to restaurants and bars around town, like Zazie above. In honor of Outdoor Month here at Apartment Therapy, we'd love to hear of other hidden gems that might bring us the kind of inspiration for our small yard area that this typewriter has. In the meantime, we're heading to the four that the SFist profiled!

kitschy, but such a sad image. poor typewriter.
Make sure where you go has heat lamps! I love San Francisco, but it's rare to be able to eat dinner outside.
Hmm...a deep-fry basket or a typewriter for my succulents? Think I'll stick with good old-fashioned pottery!
Real classy - just like the filthy plate & abalone shells used as ashtrays...
The back garden at the Bazaar Cafe (mid Richmond district) is our favorite neighborhood outdoor spot!
