Framing Wallpaper Samples

We posted about framing wallpaper samples previously on Apartment Therapy, but we especially like the way it is done in this neutrally decorated room. For many, committing to one wallpaper is an overwhelming choice, so starting with framed samples could be a perfect way to see what works.

The uniformed grouping goes beautifully with the simple decor around it. Matching white frames only highlight the wallpaper designs. We especially love the Feather Wallpaper sample from Ferm Living.

We stumbled upon this great idea on Home Sweet Home.

Similarly, I had the idea a few days ago to use up a few small pieces of fabric I'd been keeping - too small to use even in pillows, but so pretty! - by putting them in basic embroidery hoops. Organized by color family, they're a very graphic and interesting way to add color and shape to a wall.

and i LOVE that gray chair...anyone know where I can find it? (Not that I need any chairs...)

Paint samples also work well to be framed.

Both the chair and side table are from Ikea. I have that side table actually (use it as a pull up bedside table in our guest room), and for the price it's nicely put together, stable, and good looking.

Actually, maybe I was wrong about the chair, I can't find it on the site. I think I thought it was this one http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70117761 which is similar.

I'm certain about the table though!

there's a lot of ikea in that image... not a bad thing, but it was the first thing that i noticed... (i s'pose i spend too much time @ ikea...). that ikea chair is one of the most comfortable chair's i've sat in (not on their site any longer).

it's definitely an ikea chair, but not sure if it's still for sale. it's super comfortable. the side table from ikea is $12.99 if my memory serves correctly. they stack, and are easy to put together. I have a bunch of them in the house, they are awesome.

where's the side table located from ikea? i don't see it on their site.

Love the idea – very eco-friendly. Now how to convince wallpaper salespeople that you're in the market and want to try out some samples, rather than a cunning crafter?

It's the Ikea Lunna chair and it doesn't seem to be on their site anymore.

It is so comfortable, I've wanted one for a long time.

As a rep samples are expensive and sometimes cost the rep money from their profits. In these hard times especially its just not cool to be making your own craft from them.

if you pay for them then ok they are what you want to do with them. Otherwise they should be returned if you are not interested.

Thanks Ana, I knew I'd seen the samples up on the wall before framing. Thought they WERE framed at first. Has a nice Flickr set too.

I agree with LoriSF; if you're going to do this, don't rip the reps off by taking them for free.
Why not use scrapbooking paper instead? There are lots of fantastic colours and patterns out there and big sheets like those are typically $2 or less each. Michaels has about 12 gazillion different prints... check it out!
