Color Inspiration: The color inspiration for Frances' room started with the rug which I fell in love with. Her room is a small space, only 7' x 9', so after painting the knotty pine paneling a neutral color we decided to bring in pops of color through accessories, textiles and toys while keeping the furniture light & bright so as not to make the space feel any smaller. Our other inspiration was our daughter who will be coming home from China next month, after spending the first 3.5 years of her life in an orphanage, we wanted to create a space for her that would be bright, cheerful and reflect our fun and colorful lifestyle.
Tip for Using Color: In a space this small we felt it was important to keep the room and furniture neutral while bringing in color through textiles and accessories and at that point the brighter the better! I felt like we were able to pull a lot of color into the space but still keep it a calm and restful place for our daughter.
Colors Used: Pink, turquoise, yellow, green, blue

Lovely room! We also brought a 3.5 year old little girl home from China. Just celebrated our fourth year with her...although feels like she has always been here. She has been such a huge blessing! Wishing you all the best in your upcoming journey.
