Ohdeedoh may be a shelter blog, but that doesn't mean that we are immune to the effects of cabin fever. Outdoor play is out of the question on days with sub-zero temps, but admission to movies and museums can add up quickly. Become an expert at scouting free indoor fun for kids and parents and enjoy a change of scenery. Here are some of our favorite starting points for indoor adventure:
Public Libraries This one is a no-brainer. Our public library has saved us on blustery winter days, and we have made some wonderful friends at story time.
Retail Stores Bookstores are safe bets for story times, but don't overlook less obvious venues, like your go-to kids decor shops. Check out free story times at 11am Thursdays at Land Of Nod Stores, 11am Tuesdays at Pottery Barn Kids and 4pm Tuesdays at Giggle. Many Giggle stores offer free music classes as well, so check your location.
Park Districts Does your community have a hidden gem? We were delighted to discover a tiki-themed indoor playground at one of our park district facilities and it doesn't cost a dime.
Yoga Studios Many yoga studios offer free kids classes on a regular basis.
Where do you take your kids for free indoor fun?
