If you ever shop at Flora Grubb Gardens, you've probably noticed they've got an amazingly knowledgeable and creative staff. Well lucky for us, they recently launched a series of free monthly workshops with the aforementioned staff, designed to help you garden successfully (and beautifully!) in our Mediterranean climate. This Sunday's workshop is about growing bamboo, an oft-maligned plant that can be stunning in a garden if properly maintained. Two store managers will be introducing several different varieties and offering ideas for how to incorporate them into your garden.

The workshops will be taking place on the third Sunday of every month at 10:30am in the nursery (1634 Jerrold Avenue, off of Third Street)). Staff experts and friends will speak and demonstrate on topics like succulent design, growing your own food, and indoor/outdoor plants.
