OneReceipt

As a former freelancer graphic designer, I have had troubles shaking the habit of saving every receipt I collect when shopping online or offline in the real world (aka Mr. Shoebox). So this new beta service, OneReceipt, seems not only a useful tool to eliminate and centralize all your receipts, but also an effective and secure way to get a quick overview of spending habits, especially useful during the holidays...

I found the system does a quick job of collecting online receipts via my Gmail, which is my online shopping email addy. Reviewing my receipts, I can even search by category (e.g. "Deal Site", "Office Supplies" "Web Hosting", etc), and there's even an Analytics section providing a snapshot with graphs and charts, giving me my "Total Spending By Month" numbers. Another useful option is the ability to tag entries as personal or business expenditures. Worried about privacy? Review their Privacy Policy to determine whether the pros outweigh any cons...I plan to give it a try, especially since it's currently free.
