We got a reader tip a while ago about a new French 50's and 60's warehouse location. Alors! It was so much bigger than we had imagined and bursting with fabulous mid century finds from Europe and California.

The warehouse is close to the intersection of La Brea and Jefferson so we had to make a point of going down there as we weren't likely to stumble upon it, and it's only open on Saturday's so save it for the weekend (you'll need the time anyway to look at all the furniture). They'll gladly make an appointment with you if you can only make it during the week.

Michele, the owner, also let us know that she has 2 other warehouses full of furniture just waiting to fill an empty space on the showroom floor. So if you have something you've been looking for it's worth bringing it up with her (during the week she's at the Galerie Sommerlath location and on Saturdays she's at Le Depot) since odds are she has one. Has anyone else stopped by? Have anything to share?

My BF and I have stopped by one of Michele's stores, and though we both make a good living, the pieces are extremely expensive, even for our budget.

I know I'm in the minority here, but this place looks like my worst nightmare. I grew up in a house full of MCM melamine and Orlon upholstery and Danish-oiled teak (in the 70's when it was soooo not cool), so now I'm pretty well allergic to that style. I wish the folks had stashed that crap since it's all become so desirable and pricey.

Now, if anyone has a tip on affordable art deco, machine age, or art moderne stuff in the NYC area I'd be very interested.

Holy crap, I drive by that place every day on my way to work. Can't wait to check it out.

Are the prices here any lower than at the store? Because those store prices are wildly expensive...

about prices, I got the prices for the 2 yellow lamps: $325 and for the white dining set: $3,500 (it has 2 leaves and 6 chairs I think, and is in great condition). you can always try bargaining!

The prices are pretty high..it's not a thrift/discount place. I wish they had more than 50s/60s stuff.

I have worked with Michele for many years and know that the prices are, indeed, negotiable. Further, they are extremely reasonable.
I would not use the website as a price guide - only a reference.
