Fresh Color Combo: Pink & Red

It's not just for Valentine's day anymore. In the hands of an intrepid decorator, the combination of pink and red can be sublime — and not in a chocolate box kind of way.

A lot depends on how you style it. If you're feeling conservative, you can use the colors in small doses (image 8), or try pairing a deep red with a pale pink for a soft, romantic look (image 9).

Bright pink and bright red is kitschy and fun (image 7); pink with deep red (and black and white and gold) takes on a certain outsized glamor (image 3). And don't think that using pink and red together means other colors aren't invited to the party too; in the second example, a slightly peachy pink and the introduction of light blue take this combo way beyond hearts and cupids.
