When it comes to summer outings, many of us take our pets along for the ride. We might be headed over the river and through the woods (to Grandmother's house we go!), or simply to a friend's backyard BBQ for the evening. If you don't want to deal with a collapsible bowl, try these disposable pet bowls instead.
Although many pet-friendly products are made from recycled plastics, these Fresh Licks Bowls are made from sugar cane fiber. They're 100% sustainable, biodegradable and 100% tree free. (Which aside from being fun to say is perfect for the planet.)
These bowls are great for travel, trips to the dog park, great for dog sitters and even boarding. They're durable enough to be used, rinsed and reused, but inexpensive enough to toss them out without any guilt. They're 6" in diameter and hold 16 oz, selling in packs of 10 for $7.89 over at Amazon.

so is this more like...lets do less harm route?
seriously?
"Instead of worrying about collapsible bowls which are hard to use, bring something a little more eco-friendly!"
Erm...how exactly is this "more" eco-friendly than something non-disposable? And it's not like collapsible bowls are only for rocket scientists or something...
Agree with island_monkey! Definitely NOT more eco-friendly than a collapsible bowl. I notice the sentence has been changed from what appears in the original in my Reader.
Norainapeartree, yes, we changed it to better reflect what we were intending to say, which is to say that if someone isn't able to carry around a plastic bowl and/or they're looking for something disposable, then here's an option for them.
So this is for those who are able to carry an empty bowl to a place but not away?
The landfill gnomes have quite enough to do without adding a new unnecessary disposable to their workload. Now filling a need you never even knew you had!
I beg you, if you will not repent your wasteful ways, at least stop writing about it under the auspices of “green” - this product is an oxymoron in action.
I agree with previous posters. This is absolutely an example of greenwashing. Because the manufacturers wrote "eco friendly" on the package doesn't make it so.
I especially like MaryWynn's point. If carrying a bowl out with you is not a problem why not just use a non-disposable one and carry it back.
While I definitely hear what you all are saying, I think it's important to remember that not everyone is ready and willing to lead a 100% green, completely non-disposable life. Some may think this product is completely unnecessary, just another bit of greenwashing. But whether it is or not the fact remains that many (and I mean MANY) people can't break the disposable habit, and in fact are turned off by the prospect of going "green" in any capacity because they view it as just another hassle in their busy life. Isn't it better then to offer a product that is at least biodegradable rather than, say, styrofoam? Some people can turn their habits around in a day; but for others, it's baby steps.
who bothers to carry a disposable styrofoam bowl with them to the dog park but won't take a reusable plastic bowl? This is in no way actually any more convenient.
So ditto to what everyone else said about not being environmentally friendly, but also... how is this different than a 'human' disposable bowl?
Dog: I will not use this, it is made for humans.
Owner: Oh I am sorry, let me get you one specifically made for dogs!
Geez this is dumb. On so many levels.
Oh for heavens sake. If you can carry a bowl there you can carry it home. Use a bowl you already own or stop by the thrift store on the way to the dog park and buy one you can use forever. Don't buy something dumb like this.
Even that dog's look says, "you're kidding, right?"
