Blue has long been a favorite pick for bathrooms, but when balanced by warmer accent colors or cozy textures its a perfect pick for bedrooms, living rooms, and, well, every room!

Blue is really gender neutral and it's a great color for a child's room because if it's chosen properly, it will age well with a child. My personal preference is a light robin's egg blue.
We painted our living/dining space a nice light blue. Almost like the color in the first picture. We paired it with cream colored sofa's, brown silk curtains and darkish bamboo floors. It looks great!
I love blue, and especially cobalt and pale greenish blues and aquas. I just bought aqua pillows today, in fact. But I usually prefer white walls with colorful accents furnishings or accessories and lots of art on the walls. White walls with blue accessories is very calming to me, and can suit a number of styles.
Blue is a "starter" color? Lol. Okay. Sounds like someone is projecting.
I like the clear greenish or purplish blues best because most other blues go gray in the shadows.
I used sherwin williams topsail in my bedroom and it is perfect! I didn't want a light blue that looked like a little kid's room or a bathroom. this one is exactly right. it is a very light blue that reads slightly gray or aqua depending on the light.
I'm finding blue can be difficult to find the right color. Initially I was going to paint my office a bold turquoise, but then realized living with that color every day would drive me nuts. I'm now pretty certain it will be a dusty, greyish blue. Accents will be cream, chocolate brown and yellow. I have to work there and the turquoise was just too loud.
lovin' blue. I have never thought of it as cold and icy. I think its very serene.
Love blue too. I like to paint ceilings, espcially tall ones sky blue (no clouds) I have done in it all kinds of rooms and in several houses.
