Rittenhouse Square Park is one of my favorite places in Philadelphia and I have a feeling a few other people might feel the same way. There are so many events that keep Philadelphia residents entertained throughout these warm months. The square is a great place to meet new people, lay in the grass, play with dogs or simply people watch. I'm happy there are organizations that keep an extra look out for the park!
Friends of Rittenhouse is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and beautification of Rittenhouse Park. In doing so, they host several events at the park throughout the year and they're super fun! All of the events featured on the Friends of Rittenhouse website seem so fun and I plan on attending as many as possible. Here are the events coming up this week:
Rittenhouse Flower Market
Wednesday & Thursday, May 6 & 7, 2009
Enjoy the many flower-filled stalls
Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival
Saturday, May 9, 2009
Walnut St. is closed down from Broad to 19th to make room for a pedestrian parade and events.
Philly Cares Day
Saturday, May 16, 2009
They will provide the trowels, flowers, and gloves — you provide the energy. Meet at the goat at 9am.
