From Blue to Green: Recycled Denim Insulation

Bonded Logic takes used jeans and turns them into environmentally safe insulation without the addition of chemical irritants found in most insulation material. Their products are free of formaldehyde and airborne particulate pollutants, and are safe and comfortable to touch. It also meets ASTM testing standards for fire and smoke ratings, fungi resistance and corrosiveness.

Denim is collected through drives run in partnership with Cotton Inc. These donations are taken to an Arizona facility where UltraTouch insulation is produced. From there, the insulation is sold for commercial and residential use, but is also donated in large quantities to Habitat for Humanity affiliates nationwide.

Last year the program launched a grant program for architects, contractors, builders and project developers for community based green buildings.
