It was with this feeling of optimism and potential that I signed up for Matthew Haly's über-popular 4-week upholstering class. The project? Matthew teaches you how to make an ottoman from scratch. The problem? Upholstering is more than picking out a pretty fabric (who knew?), and I'm not known for being handy with tools…

Oh cool. I was just thinking of signing up for some kind of upholstering class so I can buy used furniture with confidence that I can make it nicer. You're probably more handy than me, so maybe I'll see how it goes for you first.
For those of you in Chicago, Truman College has reintroduced their 6 week upholstry class. My session starts Jan 20th so I'll let you know how it goes.
