We recently received our copy of the Land of Nod catalog in the mail, and it's looking really nice...and familiar. Do you recognize this room on p. 61?

It's none other than Eleanor's room (daughter of Nicole Balch from Making It Lovely). Apparently, Land of Nod was so impressed with Nicole's design that they recreated Eleanor's room for their catalog. Want to see more photos of this great room? Head over to Making It Lovely.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I have to say, I like Nicole's version better than the catalog's. :)
I second that -- copies are almost never as good as originals!
Yes, I have to agree : I like the original better ! Good for you !!!
I would dig those curtains anywhere, kids' room or no.
Wow... did Nicole get paid or perked for this ripoff of her design? I guess, the furniture in Nicole's room did all come from the Land of Nod, but does that give them the right to use her design and layout? I love Making it Lovely - she has excellent taste - and I can see how the Land of Nod would be very happy to see their products in use in her home.... hmm..
I think Nicole actually got most of her furnishings free from Land of Nod when designing the room.
If you go to the original "Eleanor's new bedroom" post and look at the "detailed list of sources", you will find a footnote that says "*Provided by the Land of Nod". So I'm pretty sure she was compensated for the design.
K.M. - I remember reading that Land of Nod partially supported the makeover of the room, and they do credit Nicole on the catalog page.
Thanks for sharing Eleanor's bedroom here!
Yes, I reached out initially to Land of Nod to partner with them for furnishings. I chose everything myself and received the some of the furniture in the room as part of a sponsored deal. The catalog wasn't part of our original agreement, but they liked what I did so much that they wanted to recreate the room. They wrote to me and let me know about it before doing so, and they gave credit to me as the inspiration for the room's design ("isn't it lovely").
Oh SWEET! How great is that?! Congrats!
I searched high & low for that curtain fabric today... They no Longer make it :(
I guess I'm not seeing how a couple pieces of commercially available furniture arranged in a standard manner is a "design" that needs crediting.
