Philadelphia-based illustration and design house The Heads of State — founded by Jason Kernevich and Dustin Summers — have just released 8 limited edition screenprints featuring some of Apartment Therapy's favorite US cities…
Each poster measures 14" x 24" and is available for $30 direct from The Heads of State.
Hey guys, is there a Boston, Los Angeles and Austin poster in the works?

Yes! Please make a Los Angeles poster.
i love screenprints....but these are pretty uninspired. almost boring.
I kinda love 'em.
Glad to see Philly represented!
These are fantastic. I live in Australia, and just bought the NYC one for my NYC-loving friend.
The Statue of Liberty is actually part of NJ.
i like the prints.
Pretty! They remind me of the old WPA travel posters. Although the dome on the DC poster reminds me more of the National Shrine than the Capitol.
Yes, missmay, thanks for reminding us all that while her torch, crown, robes, pedestal, and lovely visage are all indeed located in the Empire State, the state of New Jersey has for years attempted to grab a piece of Lady Liberty's copper ass. Never really sure *why*. The Garden State has a lovely view of her backside, as does NYC of her side. But she belongs to us all. (Thanks France!)
They are indeed lovely prints (including the one of New York, showing the Statue of Liberty which is located in that fair city).
I'm guessing the "inspiration" for this post came from your latest issues of Real Simple Magazine. It's where I saw them for the first time this week. And yes, they are nice.
I would love to see Houston!
I love this style of prints. Thanks for sharing.
The Statue of Liberty is indeed considered part of New York, although all of the water surrounding her is under the jurisdiction of New Jersey (Jersey City). That's why it's always been under dispute. It's an odd situation.
NYC in general is odd in terms of boundaries, with many (most?) of its suburbs actually in different states (NJ and CT). Tri-state area love!
I love the prints. They are simple but captivating. I hope you can also make one for Georgia...Will gladly wait for that. =)
I also saw these first in Real Simple this week, but agree that they are great.
As far as the Statue of Liberty and the NYC print, maybe it's cuz I'm not from there, but it is one of the icons of the city and most people when they see it think NYC...no matter where it is actually lacted (NY or NJ).
I do hope they create more of these prints for other major cities/states. My husband is in the military and it would be fun to create a collection of prints from the places we have lived.
I've started falling in love with Art Deco prints, and these certainly fit the bill!
Dear Heads of State: is there a St. Paul or Minneapolis/St. Paul print in the works? Because I'd certainly want one in my house!
These are cool, but Chicago has many buildings that are lovelier and more iconic (to residents, at least) than that hideous monolith.
I like the Miami and Phoenix ones, they seem to give you a sense of the landscape instead of a picture of a single building. D.C.'s print is terribly boring! There's so much more to the city than the tops of the same old monuments.
heather77, I'm going to have to disagree -- I was just noting the other day that the Hancock is almost an architectural metaphor for Chicago. It's simple, elegant, and the way it wears its structure on its shell is honest and strong in the same way Chicago is.
It may not be to your personal taste, but it is one of the most distinctive and iconic buildings in both Chicago and the modern canon.
dtremit, that's a lovely take on the Hancock. I can see your point, but I don't think it makes for a nice poster.
Thanks so much for the comments. We've had a really remarkable response to this series.
We're planning on following up with another 4 cities shortly. After getting a ton of feedback Boston, Austin, LA, Minneapolis and New Orleans seem to be the front runners.
It'd be funny if they made one of Detroit (I've lived in the Detroit suburbs most of my life). They would have to depict someone being mugged and/or shot, since that's what we're known for. Te he!
mfpants, I completely agree - yawn.
And as a metro-Detroit resident, I feel the above comment was a bit tasteless and feeds into the negative stereotype of an amazing (although downturned - for now) city. I'm sure it'd have something that has to do with cars, we also have some gorgeous buildings, ie the Fisher Building and the Guardian Building are 2 of my favs.
NYers (and by that I include those of us in JC, NJ, CT...) -- Let's not karp about whose territory she's in cf who owns her... let's get mad as hell that our fair city's poster is the most boring of the lot! We deserve better.
And Miami and Phoenix really seem to embody those cities locales and style. Nice.
I cannot wait for Austin!
I'm from Chicago, live in Austin and have always wanted a matching set of Chicago-Austin prints. Neighborhood prints, travel posters, whatever. But for some reason no one makes anything for ATX! So thank you for putting that on the list, cause apparently I'm too lazy to make one myself.
Oooh, I vote for New Orleans for a future poster, just because there are so many wonderful things you could do with it. (I don't live in New Orleans.)
what about honolulu, hawaii? there needs to be a poster for that!
I've ordered four already but I would love to see a poster for DETROIT! The Spirit of Detroit and/or the Fischer Building would be gorgeous.
@jessws61's--Detroit may be suffering but strength never comes by any other means. Also, remember that the extent to which you disparage Detroit, you disparage Michigan.
WARNING. These guys truly SUCK at fulfilling orders, delivering on time, communicating with you, etc… I have been lied to that the item was shipping TWICE. A month later and I haven’t received anything. The tracking number I was given says the item hasn’t even gone out. BEWARE.
