Our friend Carolyn recently bought a lovely condo in West Hollywood, and now she's in the process of picking out paint colors. "I want a look that's just timeless...classic...like listening to Billie Holiday...but you know, modern too. Nothing too bright, just really soothing." With this in mind, we've found these photos from last year's Elle Decor that feature the home of fashion and bridal designer Monique Lhuillier. Done in a palette of greys, soft blues, and earthy browns, this home looks so very serene and picture perfect--we can hardly believe a toddler lives there! A few more photos after the jump...

Looks and feels like the work of Steven Gambrel, especially the office. Can you tell us who the designer is?
Honestly? This feels more like a high-end hotel than a home.
That's very elegant. I like it, but as a mother of a toddler myself, it's hard to imagine it as a place for kids. I would have liked to see a picture of the child's room, or maybe a picture that shows the kid playing in one of those gorgeous rooms. (Of course, I know everything was arranged just right for the photographs.)
What serene & elegant spaces - I could move right in.
luv the office/library
It's uneven to me. The office and the formal living room look like they're a part of an entirely different house. I would have to see the kitchen (And remember not to use the guest bath to avoid vertigo).
Does anyone remeber/know which issue of Elle this was in?
thanks
I covet her place!
Not a child-friendly object in sight.
trés chic!
does anyone know where the zebra print bench is from?
I agree about it looking like a hotel, a nice hotel no less.
I do like the study, very dramatic.
beautiful paint colors and decor...but i agree that it feels more like a hotel than a home...a "home" , to me, feels more warm and inviting...less stuffy. Id be afraid to touch/sit/eat anywhere in this place
Just gorgeous, very feminine and sophisticated. I want it!
its the January/February 2008 issue of Elle Decor Magazine... The zebra print bench is by Paul Marra... and the home was done by interior designer Jennie Abbott.
does anyone know where the set of silver nesting bowls is from ? they were shown on the first page of the article
