Look what we saw at the 2008 Home and Housewares Show last week - a new KitchenAid mixer! More on food, cooking, and the home kitchen below, including a Knork for your spring picnics, why bad wine is called "plonk," how to clean bamboo cutting boards, and fresh spring recipes.

• This week's recipes: Kohlrabi Slaw, Simple Rice Pilaf, Chicken with Shallot-Apricot Sauce, Homemade Calzones and Cucumber Water.
