It's not often you find a tender moment on Twitter. Most folks use it for self promotion and sarcastic interludes to their day. That said, yesterday my Twitter feed held quite a sweet surprise. Charles Raymond, better known as House of Duck had a brilliant idea. Just because weather usually knocks our your power, doesn't mean you can't either!

Growing up, some of my favorite memories were spent without television, radio, or any other electronic device. When storms rolled in we'd sit on the front porch and watch while my father played guitar. We'd stare at the clouds and watch as the warm and cold fronts collided. It was a regular war in the sky and was always a treat to watch.

My folks always got us to safety in the basement with books, candles, and a full supply of snacks and laughter and I wouldn't trade those moments for any tv program, or internet musing the world has to offer. How about your family? Have you ever felt like unplugging everyone and having a day with just yourselves?

Thanks Raymond for the suggestion!
