Fulton presented some interesting technology at CES 2010. eCoupled lets you use your kitchen appliances without having any power cords around.
Fulton's eCoupled is basically a powered counterop which can operate small kitchen appliances. You'll no longer need to fumble around with power cords. eCoupled allows different devices from a bunch of different companies to share the same power source, without a cinch.
This technology has also got applications in the garage, to charge up all of your power tools, as well in cars, where you could charge your cell phones, GPS devices, and everything else, without the use of wires. The eCoupled system transfers power via a supply coil to a receiving coil through a shared electromagnetic field. The system is safe and wireless. Sounds amazing because any device within range can be charged, if it's compatible with the eCoupled technology.
You won't need any cords because of this electromagnetic conduit, which is combined with a control system that will monitor the flow of the power. We think that this would be pretty great to have in the kitchen and our workshop, though we'd like to see it in our cars as well.
