I love when small, inexpensive changes can create a big impact. Not every project out there has to be so huge and daunting to make a difference. That's what I love about these simple little DIY painting updates that could help give some generic accessories a whole new persona.
Do you have any accessories lying around that could use a little oomph? I have lots of cheap little things here and there that would be perfect to experiment on with these fun paint projects by Better Homes and Gardens.
I see a glass of wine and a porcelain pen in my future — just in time for the upcoming three-day weekend. Here is the full article at Better Homes and Gardens with how-to's and inspirational ideas.

White Enamel Flatwa...
Those white sharpie pen doodles look exactly like my doodles!!! I did some on our Save the Date, and I doodle like that randomly throughout the day. Fun!
Okay, well, gotta say that it's annoying to click through to see the "Read More" part of the article only to find yet another link to another site where (I assume) I'll find the article and, likely, a whole other set of "click here" links to navigate *their* nest of advertising. Please stop doing this; it simply trains the user of your site to not click through unless the interest level is very high - and even then it can disappoint. Maintaining the confidence and trust of your audience is important.
Can I just say I really agree with the last comment. Especially since the Better Homes and Gardens website is horrible. It's like you provided a link to a bunch of nonsense.
Another hearty "YES!" to everything sezhoo wrote. The click through nightmare on AT is absolutely horrendous.
+1 to sezhoo's comment. Come up with original content, AT!!
and there i was thinking i was the only person annoyed by the linked to this link and that link AT does.
Make that another +1 on the link to a link to a link.....
Hi all, thanks for the feedback. We publish between 35 and 40 posts each day, including at least one (usually two!) full original house tours everyday along with our regular mix of original posts, scavengers, questions, roundups and outward bound posts. So yes, a portion of our posts each week are links to cool things elsewhere on the web that we think our readers will enjoy.
BUT If you aren't interested in these types of posts, they are easy to spot and skip - we always include the name of the site/blog/publication that we are linking to as a subtitle to our post (like Better Homes & Gardens that you can see in the title of this post above). That can be your visual cue that it is an outward bound post - if you don't like this style, you can easily pass them by from the front page without the click.
Thanks!
Actually, if you click on the "Better Homes and Garden Link" (when i clicked the "click here for the full article" it asked me to log into BH&G) you'll get taken directly to the page, and all you have to do is click the arrow on the picture icon to the right to see each tip. Wasn't that hard...don't know what you're all complaining about!
What I find annoying is that the link doesn't take you to a separate window. If you want to go back to AT, you have to either keep going backwards or reload the site.
Ahhhh I need these sharpie pens in my life... being in Beijing these are a luxury!
I got to the link fine...
Love the look of the lamp and the teapot...
Another +1 to sezhoo's comment.
Eh, I have no problem clicking through. Takes like, less than a second.
These are some fun projects. My kitchen is ugh-ly and needs some TLC, but I'm a renter and can't change the hideous cabinets. Nor do I have the cash. These could be a fun way to add some decoration to all the empty counter space I have and lighten up the room!
MelissaDC, you say:

I recommend utilizing your right click on the link. That should give you the option of opening the link in a new window, or a new tab if you have a newer browser.
I use this option all the time and love it!
