I'm a chronic online window shopper, so I like to limit myself to a 5 item wish list (replace one every time I go over the limit), especially those designs that hit the mark of both being portable and falling under the category of "cute", like my current 5 tech pocket/purse friendly picks below...
The “Pick” Digicam: I found this $60 miniature digital camera toy while flipping through ELLE
magazine. The colorful and miniscule design captures lo-fi photos and even video. Pop off the side cap and thanks to the magic of technological miniaturization, there reveals a USB plug and even a micro SD slot for storage and transfer options. This obviously isn't going to replace my iPhone, but it's a fun secondary option (or gift idea).
Type Wipe: I admit I have sweaty palms, and as a result my keyboard requires regular cleaning (I need to make a travel bottle of this DIY cleaner formula). And if you're cleaning safely, you're using a micro fiber cloth like these Type Wipes. What’s fun about Type Wipes are they're printed to mimic a keyboard
so that the cloth blends in with your laptop keyboard while not in use. Available in a variety of fun colors for $17.99.
DODO Notes: Two of my favorite brands, DODOCase and Mohawk, joined forces to fulfill my love of note taking, alongside offering a safe way to carry it around with my ever-present phone. To me, notebooks are just as important as my smartphone when
it comes to work, so this two-for-one design is perfect. The DODO Notes notebook is designed to safely strap in your phone right onto the notebook for convenient carrying around at $13.95, available in red, blue, and black.
Cable Keeps: Sometimes an outlet isn't available in an ideal spot and you end up leaving your phone lying on the floor while it charges. That’s not exactly the best place to keep a phone, since you're increasing the chances of someone stepping on or kicking it (maybe even yourself). The $16.00 Cable Keeps is a combination wire winder and dock for your iPhone, offering a safer off the ground option for charging time. There's even a larger version to accommodate for iPads.
Glow in the Dark USB Drive: I’m almost completely reliant on Dropbox and Google
Drive for anywhere access to my files, but I also realize having an in-hand backup is the smart move. I own a handful of USB
flash drives for this purpose; I would love to add one of these playful editions designed by famous illustrator/artist, Gary Baseman, to my collection. Storage capacity is just right for carrying around a day's worth of files and images, with 8GB available for $22.00.
