Q: I am setting up my daughter's nursery and am looking for any kind of fun or funky thermometer to put in her room. We live in an old house without air conditioning and the upstairs gets quite a bit warmer then the downstairs. I would like to know what temperature it will be in her room specifically so I can be sure it is always safe to leave her in there. I thought this might be a fun opportunity to get a piece that would serve 2 functions, thermometer and art! Right now she still sleeps in my room, but I would like to make the switch soon! Any suggestions?

Editor: They may not suit your style as they are rather traditional and folksy, but how about a weather house? Most have a figure of a man and a woman; typically the woman comes out of the house in dry weather and the man in wet. Many include a thermometer. It's fairly easy to find vintage ones (try Etsy and eBay) or you can buy them new (search "weather house"). Readers, what other ideas do you have?
