Sometimes the fun of a craft for kids is the process itself and not necessarily the end result. This is a quick, easy project perfect for an afternoon indoors — and the fun is all in the watching!
Rosa from FlutterFlutter shows how to make color dance in a dish with just a few simple ingredients: soap, milk, and food coloring. The process couldn't be any more simple — and the results, any more dramatic!

White Enamel Four-P...
Gorgeous. I wonder if it's possible to transfer it to paper.
H. Wood - If you can, google Suminagashi on the internet. It's very similar to this without the "dancing". Special inks are used and floated on top of water. Then, a special absorbent paper is placed on top for a few seconds. When the paper is pullled off, a BEAUTIFUL pattern is left. There are plenty of videos/info online about this method. It's easy too! Enjoy!
@ H. Wood: Or you could snap a digital pic and print it. Nope, not even close to the exquisitness of an orignal (Glorious!) But, outside of my dreams, (which are also glorious) I'm not going to search out the special inks to attempt the real deal. If you do, please do share. I tend to live vicariously through those who 'do' when it comes to art..
I did this in middle school. It's fun for all ages.
This looks like such a fun, inexpensive way to enjoy interactive color. If this idea had been known when I was a kid, I would have been doing it all the time unless I was taking a break with my Spirograph or Spin-Art machine.
