At her MFA thesis show a few weeks ago, RISD grad Micaelan Davis turned a couple of witty concepts into a beautifully executed lounge chair and dining table. The Foot Chair solves the age-old dilemma of how to sit with your feet propped up while not sending yourself tumbling over backwards (you need only check YouTube to confirm what a common predicament this is). In fact, the sitter must use the chair's footrest in order to keep the chair flat on the floor...
The Wenge Table is broken into three sections that function as giant versions of the tiny slide puzzles you probably played with back in the day while you were waiting for the dentist to tighten your braces. The "picture" is the rich grain of the wenge wood, which can be lined up as nature intended or slid into whatever arrangement your heart desires.
