Last year, we blogged about a design company making "lumber" from recycled newspapers. Now that the process has been perfected, that lumber is being put to use in the form of furniture, jewlery and other objects.
The newspaper wood was developed by Mieke Meijer for design company Vij5. Recycled newspaper is rolled together tightly using a specially designed machine which produces "logs" of recycled wood. The logs can then be milled just like traditional wood.
