Furniture on wheels work great in all spaces, big and small. They're incredibly handy, allowing you to clear the floor in seconds. They also impart a warm industrial feel, making them useful if you want to balance out organic or fine silhouettes in your space. Available in a variety of styles, the pieces featured here are industrial, contemporary and vintage.
Why you want them:
• Easy to vacuum, sweep or mop the floor underneath.
• Versatile floor plans for different social situations, like moving the coffee table to do an exercise routine or to open up a play area for children.
• Prevents injury while moving large heavy pieces like a filled laundry hamper or book cart.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Does anyone recognize the couch from the first picture?
Bob, I'm guessing it's CB2 given the source for the media cart.
BTW, I can't find the the CB2 cart in camo on the site anymore. :(
is a wagon furniture?
i tend to really dislike furniture on wheels, especially things like that coffee table. the end cart isn't too bad though, mostly because the whole shape and feel is industrial.
You forgot the new groovy rolling cart fron ikea: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30216536/
I bought that cart for my husband to store all of his acrylic paints and brushes.
Also their new coffee table, at a third of the price of fancy-schmancy CB2: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90208449/
cdica002, the coffee table does have casters that lock.
when i was little and saw matilda, i made a promise to myself that someday i would have a home with ALL of my furniture on wheels.... so that if i wanted, i could push it all to the outsides of the room and roller skate or dance around, just like matilda and miss honey at the very end, living happily ever after.
so anyway, i like this post.
are those roller skate wheels on that cart? too cute!
i know they lock, i just don't like the look of things on wheels. it's more officey looking than homey.
I got the CB2 green camo coffee table about two months ago on sale for $99 including shipping. It is very large! My apartment is very small so instead of using it as a coffee table, I've locked it in place under my windows and put cushions on top and baskets on the bottom shelf for storage. It is absolutely wonderful.
i put my whole bedroom on wheels :)
Yeah, having casters on furniture is great...until one gets lost from your coffee table during a cross country move & it's a totally non-standard size & virtually impossible to replace. Tons of fun.
I think that table in camo has been discontinued, but they do have it in a couple other colours. Also, that sofa is the Avec, it's still carried at CB2!
This is incredibly useful. I have coffee table on wheels at home and I love it!
Well yeah, furniture on wheels. Makes moving things so much easier. What I find hilarious is that not too long ago someone put a children's book case on roller skate wheels & posters flipped out about the "potential danger" of kids riding on the book case, etc. Hooo-eey!!!!
I love the soft gray couch with the pastel pillow. Pretty pop of color with neutral.
Well, more like a subdued pop of color.
My kitchen Islands are on wheels. I can roll one in the diningroom for a pretty buffet.
FYI those are skateboard trucks and wheels on the little bookcase...
