How can you beat the convenience of having a dedicated piece of furniture, let's say, a table or a book shelf, that not only serves the original purpose for what it was designed, but it also provides hours of entertainment? Let's take a look at what designers have been working on lately to please both your eyes and your ears.

Horizontal 51
This winner of the reddot design award, best of the best in 2011, has everything you may think of it. Sleek design, built in speakers and Apple's 30 pin dock for your iDevice. With this Soundboard, you can enjoy all the features from the iPhone/iPod in a very elegant way. No more additional appliances to clutter the space. Just a functional shelf on the wall. We like that, even with the ultra reduced footprint, they managed to place a powerful bass and even a room filling sound making device that lets you connect it to your TV or even computer.

LapTop Dock LD 120
This is a high fidelity speaker table that was designed for the ground up, to fit a laptop. 120 Watts of sound power, wide stereo system for great stereo quality. We like that it comes with built in USB DAC HIFI card to improve the sound quality. Natural leather top, finish the contact surface between the laptop and the table, helping isolate vibrations and make the look more hi scale. It comes with 7 built-in speakers in total. Amazing feat for such a small piece of furniture.

The Concerto Table Piano
Who could forget the Concerto Table Piano? The Concerto Table allows you to enjoy the shape of an extraordinary instrument while having dinner or working at your computer. A classic design was exactly what the creative mindsĀ  from Lovegrove and Repucci thought of when making the table. Bringing an iPod dock to a table shaped like a piano.
