Get inspiration for your vintage, green dream furniture at Chicago's ArchiTech Gallery, which has a new show examining furniture designs from what they say, "mark the beginning of the most accelerated period in American consumerism."

Part of our lust after mid-century pieces is the green factor. Case in point: my boyfriend and I gladly spent $100 on two vintage mid-century modern nightstands rather than picking up faux-wood ones at Ikea.

Get some inspiration at the show, where they have architectural and industrial drawings from the 1940's-1960's.
