TRON: Legacy was one of those movies where the visuals far outshined the narrative, and it seems the followup to the 80's classic has sparked quite a bit of inspiration amongst fans looking to emulate the futuristic neon-infused set design. Here's an example made from 5 meters of $70 RGB LED lights and a custom table top...
Reddit DIYer, xLunchboxxx, admits a love for TRON: Legacy, so much so, he set out to build himself a coffee table that wouldn't look out of place from the remake. Most notably, the circuit board stye table top: most of us don't have access to woodworking tools or a laser cutter, and that's why xLunchboxxx turned to custom fabricator, Formulor, to convert his 2D plans into a precise 2-piece 3D table top.
His plug-in square table glows in different colors, thanks to an array of LED, with the addition of a phone / tablet charging in the middle, with both wireless and wired connection options available via micro USB and 3.5 mm audio cable. It's all quite perfect for easy home theater and digital jukebox control from the comfort of the couch.
