You've undoubtedly seen or heard of the Aerogarden, the all in one interior garden solution that provides light, water and aeroponic tech to allow for easy growth. Love the NASA-tested green thumb tech...EXCEPT...we think it looks kind of fugly in person. What we're hoping for is something more like Gabriela Mombach’s Broto Aeroponic Plant Pot, which comes equipped with artificial LED lightning and a much more kitchen counter-friendly form...
Though currently just a concept, we're hoping the folks at Aerogarden sees Gabriela's concept and take heart (and hire her!). The Broto is speced out to measure pH, temperature, nutrients, humidity, all the while giving your photosynthesis loving friends one stylish pad to call their own.

I thought LEDs didnt give off UV light though. So wouldnt they be a little useless for growing plants?
Plants don't require UV light - they can derive energy from parts of the UV spectrum, but do fine without.
Interesting to green up a dark space, but all my plants are passive solar. They're eco that way.
Plants don't need UV? Truly, i am "green" about this stuff. However, i do really appreciate every invention on technology related with the green living things.
And to make sure whether it is effective or not, there must be someone who expert on this stuff to contribute...
Honestly, that Aeroponic plant pot is beautiful :) it looks peaceful and sweet, isn't it..
It's a beautiful idea, beautiful design and very delicate. Well done Gabriela!
