Hi Apartment Therapy! I wanted to share my son's new big boy room with you!
When we moved into our house in 2011, Gabriel's room (along with the rest of the house) needed some TLC.
This was the first room I spent time on, because I wanted him to have a comfortable space to settle into (he was not quite two years old). In the past couple months, his room has gotten some updates, including a new big boy bed! We love his new big boy room and spend lots of time as a family, telling stories and making memories in this space.
The walls are painted with Martha Stewart Plumage. The bed (Gabriel's third birthday present and an awesome thrift store find by my Mom) was refinished in Annie Sloan chalk paint in French Linen and sealed with clear wax. The dresser was a Craig's List find ($20) that got an update with some white paint (Parchment White by Glidden).
As a child, I loved Shel Silverstein. I found his book 'Falling Up' at a thrift store and used the pages for wall art! Gabriel's room was done on a serious budget. I wanted to spend as little money as possible. I spent less than $100 (on the dresser, sheets, paint and a couple small things at the thrift store) to give Gabriel a room that we all love!
I hope you enjoyed his room!
