Galactic Boutique sits in a little strip of shops on Pine street in Seattle, arching steeply over I-5. The sandwich board out front reads "Sexy Home Accessories," and visitors should prepare for same — of the Barbarella variety.

The store is done up in sleek white, with the pinks and purples and metallics of the merchandise lending a fun, candy-coated space age-y feel to the shopping experience. Home accessories include pillows, candles, stemware and cups, but depth is provided by the selection of local artwork on display and for sale.

The paintings of hot guys and ladies that line the top of walls let us know that this place takes sexy seriously, despite the playfulness of the merchandise, like velvet Jesus statue piggy banks and disco balls.

There's also the ubiquitous Asian flare, done well with paper crane wall decals and pillows. In addition to displaying local artwork throughout the store, the boutique also has a dedicated gallery space at the back.
