"A new apartment. An extra room. A huge blank wall. No money."

Lacy went the DIY route to solve the design dilemma she encountered at her new apartment. A trip to the art store for some low cost materials was the first step, but using content that is meaningful to her was key.

She says, "I bought 3 canvases and a thick acrylic glaze, painted the canvases, then glazed on 3 pieces I've had for a while, but haven't been able to find a frame/home for.

One is a flyer for one of my favorite movies - The Palm Beach Story by Preston Sturgess, another is a small print of an Abbey painting of the Play Within a Play scene from Hamlet, and finally, a hilarious how-to-act diagram from the early 1900s (can you tell I'm an actor?).

The round paper lanterns in varying sizes, colors, and heights give it a sort of mod-but-cozy feel. it's also a nice soft light for what ended up being our 'dining room-turned-tv-room-because-we-have-no-dining-room-furniture'. Yay art! Yay cheap art! "

Thanks to Lacy for sharing the photos and how-to of her art at home.
