We've got an entire house full of stuff to go through and decide what to keep, what to store, and what to sell. It's a big project, but nothing gets a job done like clearly labelled boxes and exclamation points...
We know we're supposed to be gathering our unwanted things to sell at a garage sale, but we all know we're supposed to be doing lots of things. By simply labeling boxes and keeping them at-the-ready on the main floor of the house (not the basement, not the garage), I'm hoping it will be easier to steadily add to the To-Sell category. Before we know it, we'll have all our trash ready to become someone else's treasure, and we'll be left with all our favorite, necessary stuff.
I'm particularly (nerdily) happy about this two-box system: if something To-Sell is mine alone, it goes straight into the box marked Garage Sale! But if there's something that needs consensus from the group before being gotten rid of, it goes into the Garage Sale? box, where it awaits a final judgement.
I'm hoping to add a few things to either box every day, and I'm really hoping that this approach makes the sorting and selling process as painless as possible. Any tips?
