We're building a shed in the back yard that will leave a small gap between the house and the shed. A gate like one of these could be the perfect portal to the backyard. In our dreams, anyway:
My yard will never be as lush as the examples shown, but I would love to achieve this feeling of entering something special when passing through that "alley" space between shed and house.
Do you have a garden gate incorporated into your home? Please tell us all about it!

One day, I want a gate like the this:

But they're all so beautiful!
I love when gates look like doorways to secret gardens. They should feel inviting, but mysterious, almost otherworldly.
I'm in the process of doing just this, planning for the replacement of our aging fence and gate. The possibilities are endless! But our pursestrings are not. Option no. 1 is just about as fancy as we can afford at the moment. But option no. 4 and 5 would be lovely.
Love #4. This would be the entrance to my "fairy" garden.
Check out my friends custom metal gates.

Are you good with a jigsaw? In Venice there's a house with a plain old fence made of standard redwood dogeared palings. What makes the fence special is that someone shaped the top of each fence paling into a fanciful figure or shape. Maybe someone here can post a picture. I'll search for one.
