It is really too bad that Google's Japanese translator struggles, because I would love to better understand the words that go along with the images of this lovely garden. Based in Japan, the Little Yard blog is a wonderful visual chronicle of, well, a little yard.
But don't think that little somehow means that there isn't a whole lot going on here. Nearly every corner of this garden has some sweet vignette to study and appreciate. It is worth poking around the the Little Yard site — there are lots of details to take in. My favorites are the shelved gardens (we talked about that a few weeks ago) and the mailbox mash-up — it is really so welcoming.
Though it is quite full and has the aura and chaos of a collector's menagerie, it is easy to tell that this garden is a joy for its owner — proving that gardening doesn't have be high-design to be lovely and happy.
P.S. Anyone know what the plant with the red berries is (in the 3rd image)? I haven't the foggiest, and I know you will probably want to know as badly as I do... any ideas?
