One of the things that makes this garden so special is the ever changing and evolving collection of arranged flea market finds which elevate the more spare plantings and keep things inviting and interesting. In my opinion, some of the still-lifes that mix plants with quirky objects and rusty remnants border on high art (but I'm no art expert — I just know what I like).
Paul and Reuben's blog has many more images, as well as lots of insight into their projects and how they are inspired to create their garden. Heavy influences here are recycled treasures, water wise plants, and making the inexpensive look like something of value. My personal favorite is the before and after of the enviably cool vinyl sofas that they painted with createx paint (full how-to) to be much more colorful and interesting.

Love it all! Especially that last picture.
Rancho Reubidoux is one of my fave blogs. The salvage & succulent vignettes are genius... genius, I tell you.
Wow - so much. Not usually a fan of creepiness in design (nor am I much of a design savant, I admit), but I got a little silly over what looked like tombstones on top of the concrete cylinders....while the view beyond is of a cemetery! loved it
Succulents are quickly becoming my favorites.
basically my dream garden. love.
& oh good, another blog i must follow, just what i need.
ugh. love it. a lot.
SO MUCH FUN!
Gotta love having such quiet neighbors, eh?
Fantastic! A sculpture garden. I love it all!!! (I'm in love with the sofas, too!)
For about a tenth of a second I was really excited about seeing Paul Reubens' home.
I've had the privilege of seeing the garden irl and let me tell you it is EVERYTHING. Beautiful plants, amazing art, and Paul and Reuben are perfect sweethearts. They even have a full-time taquero on staff. (jk.) My husband is sick of hearing about things I saw and want to copy from their garden. Love it.
