I don't know if it's the dog days of summer or post-vacation blues, but I am obsessing over gardens… specifically ones that are far far away (as in, in places that I want to make my next vacation destination). Wij Trädgårdar (Wij Gardens) in the Sindbis region of Sweden has long been a design inspiration, and the pictures are so satisfyiing that even a virtual visit is giving me a lift.

Wij Trädgårdar has a rose garden that I can smile about (*in that is it is far more interesting that your typical rose garden) and it has a forest garden, a shadow garden, an herb garden and a variety of inspiration gardens that combine to make this relatively new attraction in Sweden a highly successful destination.

The design is by Lars Krantz, and since it has been built (only a few years ago), the garden is already attracting tens of thousands of visitors who come to see great design ideas and learn about gardening, growing vegetables, art, nature, and design.
