I don't know if it's the dog days of summer or post-vacation blues, but I am obsessing over gardens… specifically ones that are far far away (as in, in places that I want to make my next vacation destination). Wij Trädgårdar (Wij Gardens) in the Sindbis region of Sweden has long been a design inspiration, and the pictures are so satisfyiing that even a virtual visit is giving me a lift.
has a rose garden that I can smile about (*in that is it is far more interesting that your typical rose garden) and it has a forest garden, a shadow garden, an herb garden and a variety of inspiration gardens that combine to make this relatively new attraction in Sweden a highly successful destination.
The design is by Lars Krantz, and since it has been built (only a few years ago), the garden is already attracting tens of thousands of visitors who come to see great design ideas and learn about gardening, growing vegetables, art, nature, and design.
It's a Scandinavian garden heaven — make sure you visit their site to see more images as well as plan your trip.
