Garnet Hill Adds Furniture

Garnet Hill Adds Furniture

Feb 20, 2007

Buried deep within the Garnet Hill catalog that arrived in our mail on Friday was a low-key promotion for their newly-expanded home furnishings line, available online only.

The new offerings focus on bedroom furniture, which is a natural for a company that started out as a source for quality, design-oriented bedding. There are beds, side tables and nightstands, dressers, seating options and accents like lamps and screens.

The style range is the very definition of eclectic. There are Hollywood Regency-esque and cottagey side tables, Asian and colonial chests, Mexican consoles.

Most of the pieces are unique and will add some flair to a contemporary interior, though nothing feels particularly modern. The closest is these Whitney lamps, which feel modern right now because they're retro.

Prices are on the high end of reasonable.

Will it ever get more coherent? We hope not. Our guess is that they will continue to pick and choose and sell just a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
