Names: Geoff (6) and Ahren (4)
Location: Quezon City, Philippines
Favorite Family-Friendly Place To See or Thing To Do Here: This is a children's park in the heart of Quezon, City (north of Manila). Here, most kids don't have enough play area in which they can go crazy and do some physical activities. I often bring them here for three reasons: it's free, it's fun, and very near our place (around 5-10 minutes). You don't have to spend tons of money and you can let your kids have fun.
Best Tip for Traveling with Kids: Every time we go out, I secretly put in my bag two of their favorite toys (one for each kid, depending on which toy is their "favorite" for that week): a dinosaur for ahren and a die cast volkswagen van for Geoff. When they get cranky while travelling or when they get bored, I just whip the toys out and they will suddenly forget what they are being cranky for and will just be delighted that you have a "surprise" for them. This works all the time!
Favorite Way to Make it Feel Like Home: If we have to bring a few items they are familiar with AND let them decide which toy/book/snack they would like to bring with them.
An Item you MUST Take With You While Traveling: Since it can get hot here, and the kids will get sweaty from all that playing, it's best to bring a change of clothing, handy wipes, and a small bottle of hand sanitizer.
