What delightful pieces!
That first piece is beautiful and so functional, could be a big jewlery box(upper) and hold handbags, scarves, hats, etc (lower). Or a elegant office piece.
If I was buying new furniture I would support this.
I've been to his studio- he's fantastic!
Gorgeous! The first one looks like a Mid-Century-style Korean box.
at first I thought the maple table was by the same person (Blaise Gaston) who made a dining table and chairs for my parents a number of years ago. The legs on his pieces also have very distinctive curves but they're kind of quirkier.
Lori you nailed this piece exactly. The primary need that the customer had was for a file cabinet, they also wanted to get rid of a desk that was only used for the pencil drawer. I designed the piece with many more small drawers vs. a few larger so they could organize what they had better and find other uses for the empty drawers that remained. It went into a room that served multiple purposes so I bet there are some domestic items in some drawers and files in the bottom.
