Maybe it's the drastic change in weather, maybe we have germs in our house (ew!) or maybe one was picked up while we were with friends, but we're sick. Being sick is absolutely no fun and we're hoping it doesn't last very long. To speed up the process, we've been researching different tech to help rid our home of germs.
• Re(al)view: iZap Toothbrush, Clean UV Revolution Seems like a pretty easy way to get all those germs off your toothbrush!

• Five Germ Busting Home Gadgets Is just what the doctor ordered. We needed to read about helpful ways and gadgets to keep these germs out of our house!

• 10 Preventive Tech Solutions for the Swine Flu Germaphobe is a bit much, but, can still be extremely helpful if you're still worried about Swine Flu.

• How To: Clean your Keyboard is a necessary read if you share a computer with others in your house. It's a pretty easy way to pass germs and bacteria. YUCK!

• Are Netflix Discs Bringing Germs in Your Home? That's a really good question!

I think you should consult a physician or public health expert on this issue. And your Netflix intro and link is pure poppycock since your own answer to the question is, "No."
It's impossible to kill all the germs in your home.
And even if it were possible, you don't want to do that. If you lived in a sterile environment, you'd get sick every time you walked out the door.
My belief is that the current fad for sanitizers and such is simply breeding more virulent germs. We kill the weak ones with our clean mania, and the strong ones survive to infect us later.
My advice is to get a flu shot unless your doctor advises against it, then practice ordinary, decent cleanliness in your daily life: wash your hands frequently, keep your home tidy and clean, and so forth.
I would discourage using a UV light with a toothbrush. It makes plastic very brittle, and will probably decrease the life of your toothbrush bristles quite substantially.
yes, i'd agree. i'm an infectious disease doctor and the single best way that you can stay healthy is to wash your hands! get some of those alcohol hand gels and use it liberally, especially when you're out and about. you don't know what stuff you can get just touching door handles, hitting elevator buttons, shaking hands.
Good grief, anyone worried about getting germs off a netflix disc probably needs to see a professional.
If you are worried about your toothbrush, give the bristle end a soak in Listerine.
Following up to @mdorothy, it has indeed been proven that too MUCH hand sanitizer is no good as it kills off the "good germs" as well:

Just wash your hands, avoid touching your face/eyes too much if you haven't washed your hands, etc....basic hygiene, people!
Seriously? I mean sure, being clean is good for lots of reasons, but sometimes you can't help but get a cold. There are lots of things you can do to hopefully avoid getting sick, but sometimes it's inevitable. Lets not give germaphones more reasons to be fearful.
Sterilizing one's toothbrush is no substitute for replacing it occasionally, and toothbrushes are inexpensive.
