Though Patrón Tequila surely brings to mind "craft" cocktails, we don't usually associate the ultra-premium spirit with actual "crafts". But Patrón is mixing it up with the Art of Patrón Contest, in which imaginative Patrón fans (such as yourselves) can enter to win $10,000 for creating the greatest piece of art using, or inspired by, the iconic Patrón Tequila bottle. To join the fun, head over to The Patrón Social Club to sign up and submit your artwork.
Patrón Tequila's iconic glass bottle has long been a beacon of smooth taste and ultra-premium quality at bars and homes across the country. Recently, fans from all over have been upcycling empty Patrón bottles by turning them into lamps, vases, and artwork. Patrón is here to celebrate and showcase that creativity with the Art of Patrón Contest.
The only requirement is that your entry must include elements of the Patrón bottle or a depiction of the bottle. Otherwise, you have full creative license to put your own stamp on the iconic Patrón Tequila bottle. Enter your submission by April 30th, 2013 with a photo and description of the piece and your inspiration behind it. Public voting will begin in late May, and the big $10,000 prize winner will be announced in late June.
We were interested to learn that the Patrón Tequila bottle is already a work of art in itself. Each bottle is individually handmade with recycled glass, by artisans using ovens specifically designed for this purpose. After being filled, every bottle is hand-labeled and then adorned with that distinctive ribbon, also tied by hand.
